Popping seems a very immediate and satisfying solution. But popping your acne causes more damage than good. When you try to squeeze this pus-filled cystic pimple, it leads to inflammation leading to scarring, and skin discoloration.

Ice It When You Feel Like It’s Coming Out

Ice it

Pimples are rooted deep beneath the skin. When it begins to form, you usually feel it. When it’s on the horizon, treat it with ice cubes. When you apply ice cubes to pimples, it constricts the blood vessels that are feeding the cyst and immediately decreases its size and redness.

Wrap an ice cube in a towel and hold it against the pimple. Icing three times a day for 10 minutes drastically reduces the spots. After icing, wash your face; this would bring the skin temperature back to normal.

Icing is sure to calm the redness and swelling quite immediately.

Use Cleansers That Contain Silicic Acid

Use cleansers

If you have cystic acne, then the cleanser with a high concentration of salicylic acid is highly recommended. It removes excess oil and shrinks the pimples.

Typically the salicylic acid concentration should be between 0.5 to 2 percent. If you are prone to cystic acne, you can go for 1.5- 2 percent silicic acid.  If your skin is both acne-prone and sensitive, high concentration can be overdrying. In that case, go for a cleanser with 0.5-1 percent salicylic acid.

Go for an Oil-Free Moisturizer

Even if you are prone to cystic breakouts, you still need a moisturizer to hydrate your skin. However, you need to be careful while picking a moisturizer. Some of the moisturizers contribute to the problem.  Go for moisturizers that contain ceramides, niacinamide, or hyaluronic acid. These ingredients reduce the redness, inflammation, and restores the skin’s protective barrier.

Use Acne Patch

Use acne patch

Acne patches offer an easy and effective solution to get rid of pimples. You have to place the patches on the acne for 6 to 8 hours and allow it to suck all bulges and secretion. This method removes acne, pimples, mole tags from the skin and gives brighter and softer skin.

Apply a Topical Antibiotic

Apply a topical antibiotic

Topical antibiotics eliminate the bacteria that are contributing to the pimple. If you have recurring pimples, then this product can be used around the infected area.  The topical antibiotics usually come in a gel formula; you may apply it twice a day. If you have sensitive skin, reduce the application to once.

Pimples are the most challenging to treat. It takes time to get rid of these pesky bumps from the skin. But you need to be patient and avoid any kind of damage occurring to your skin.
